Chiropractic Procedures

Physical Therapy

The doctor employs the most modern treatments: Electrical Muscle Stimulation (Inferential, Mirocurrent, HVG, and Russian Stim), which decreases pain and inflammation, increases circulation, and relaxes and re-educates the muscles.

Intersegmental Traction

The patient lies on a table that rolls up and down each segment of the spine breaking spasms, increasing blood flow and spine flexibility (often called a roller table spinolator).

Light Therapy- Infrared and Cold Laser

These therapies are used to treat soft tissue injuries, pain, and inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, plantar fascitis, etc. The FDA recently approved the therapeutic light therapies.

Diathermy

Diathermy is a heat that penetrates into the tissue to increase blood flow, enhancing healing of the soft tissue and other conditions needing increased blood flow to promote healing.

Ultrasound

Therapeutic ultrasound is a selective sound wave that is utilized to treat neck, back and joint problems by delivering energy to a specific area.

Hot/Cold Pack

These therapies are used for acute injuries such as immediate sprain (cold) or conditions where heat is needed to increase blood flow and relax the muscles.

Various massage equipment is utilized for therapeutic muscle relaxation and stress.

Nutritional Counseling

The staff has an experienced biochemist and a pharmacist. We work with you to achieve your best nutritional needs.

Myofacial Release

This is a type of deep, intense manual therapy almost like a deep-tissue massage. It is used to break adhesions, muscle spasms, and tension knots by working with and against the grain of the muscle while the patient actively stretches the same muscle. Unlike traditional massage, it is not meant to be soothing, but rather therapeutic.

Trigger Point Therapy

Also known as ischemic compression, trigger point therapy entails the doctor pressing down on a muscle knot to cause the muscle to be starved of its blood supple. Once the pressure is released, fresh blood flows quickly through the muscle and pushes out any tension, adhesions, or toxins.

  • What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a branch of the healing arts which is based upon the understanding that good health depends, in part, upon a normally functioning nervous system (especially the spine, and the nerves extending from the spine to all parts of the body). "Chiropractic" comes from the Greek word Chiropraktikos, meaning "effective treatment by hand." Chiropractic stresses the idea that the cause of many disease processes begins with the body's inability to adapt to its environment.

The examination of the spine to evaluate structure and function is what makes chiropractic different from other health care procedures. Your spinal column is a series of movable bones which begin at the base of your skull and end in the center of your hips. Thirty-one pairs of spinal nerves extend down the spine from the brain and exit through a series of openings. The nerves leave the spine and form a complicated network which influences every living tissue in your body.
